THE STAFF
Gary Baldus, 39, is the Founding & Lead Pastor of New Walk Church. Gary & his wife Shawn planted New Walk in October, 2006 with a vision and a passion of a church that would reach everyone in their community. In that vision would be an emphasis on reaching young people and families. It was a passion for reaching people who were far from God in life and bringing them the hope of Jesus Christ that New Walk was founded. Today, New Walk is reaching people in the East Pasco community in a huge way. Over 350 people have begun a relationship with Jesus since 2006 and New Walk is currently reaching almost 1,100 people a week. Included in those who are being reached are over 230 children a week from ages Birth to 5th Grade and over 150 teens a week. Pastor Gary is also a national church planting coach and has been a part of helping to see many new churches start all over the country. Gary is ordained through General Baptist Denomination and a graduate of the University of South Florida. Gary also has 2 daughters (Sydney & Brooke) and they are also guardians of Mary Jo Boyette.
Eric joined New Walk's staff in December 2009 as the Director of Connection Groups. His primary responsibilities are in the oversight and coordination of New Walk's small groups ministry, which provides a full range of Bible and general Christian studies in relaxed and intimate settings throughout the community. Eric's vision for this ministry includes sustained growth to the point where New Walk would be not just a church “with” small groups, but a church “of” small groups. Eric is also active in New Walk's pastoral care and teaching areas.
He and his wife (Melissa) have two children, and he and his family love being a part of the life change and Kingdom growth that occurs at New Walk.
Renee was blessed to be a part of New Walk from the launch in 2006. She has served in several different roles for the church over the years, currently she is New Walk's Executive Assistant. Knowing the vision and having the passion for New Walk she is able to assist Pastor Gary and the staff on many different levels. Renee is married to Scott Drinkwater, who leads our Campus Safety Team. Jacob leads New Walk's Worship Arts team which includes an outstanding Adult Worship Team, Awesome Student Worship Team as well as a growing Drama Team. His God-given, talented voice has been used already to reach thousands in this area for Christ. Prior to coming to New Walk, Jacob was leading worship at a church in Missouri where he led for 2 years starting at the age of 15! Brent came on staff as Director of Media & Design in 2009. The Media & Design Team covers anything technical from Sunday's services as well as graphic design, web design, creative thinking and helping to keep New Walk on the cutting edge of technology and creativity, to connect with the people in this community. Brent felt a calling on his heart to work with and preach Gods word to students and teens in this community and so he took on the role as the AMPED Student Director in June 2011. Brent and his wife, Christine, have 2 children Delaney and Seth and they started coming to New Walk in 2007, where they quickly got plugged into Connection Groups and into multiple ministry teams. They quickly saw the vision that New Walk was casting for this community and wanted to be a part of it in any way they could. Michael and his family started attending New Walk in February of 2008. After being raised in a more "traditional" church setting, he was immediately drawn to New Walk's casual atmosphere, yet relevant style of church. His strong passion for God and sports landed him the position as the H2Osports Coordinator where his goal was to get the church involved in local, organized sports leagues, in order to represent Jesus. Michael understood how an invitation to play sports can lead to life change for someone who may have never considered entering the doors of a church. Along with heading H2Osports, he also recently became the Coordinator of New Walk's Connection Groups. These groups meet in "non-church" atmospheres throughout the week, mostly in people's homes, although some are activity based and meet at other locations. These groups all offer fellowship, biblical teaching, spiritual growth, accountability, and the opportunity to build stronger relationships. At New Walk, it is heavily encouraged that everyone gets involved in a Connection Group!
Michael and his wife, Nicki, have 5 children.
Nicki joined the New Walk staff in November of 2010 out of a passion to see women in all seasons of life experience the amazing love of Jesus Christ. She is a wife and a mommy of 5 ranging from newborn to age 7. Nicki and her family started worshiping at New Walk in February of 2008. She also currently serves as a Nursery and Youth Leader. Her excitement for Women's Ministry is primarily driven by her desire to see many ladies rise up in leadership and become more active in serving and ministering to others!
Cammie was born and raised in Tampa, FL and is a graduate of USF, GO BULLS! She and her family started attending New Walk in January of 2007. Cammie and Jacob Hill met at New Walk on Easter of 2007 and have been happily married since September 19, 2008. Cammie joined the New Walk Staff, in October of 2010, as the Director of Children’s Ministries. She loves working with children and her goal is to make church on Sunday morning the best hour of your kid’s week through high-energy, biblical teaching! Cammie loves being a part of the work that God is doing through the Children’s Ministry at New Walk.
