THE STAFF
Gary Baldus, 39, is the Founding & Lead Pastor of New Walk Church. Gary & his wife Shawn planted New Walk in October, 2006 with a vision and a passion of a church that would reach everyone in their community. In that vision would be an emphasis on reaching young people and families. It was a passion for reaching people who were far from God in life and bringing them the hope of Jesus Christ that New Walk was founded. Today, New Walk is reaching people in the East Pasco community in a huge way. Over 350 people have begun a relationship with Jesus since 2006 and New Walk is currently reaching almost 1,100 people a week. Included in those who are being reached are over 230 children a week from ages Birth to 5th Grade and over 150 teens a week. Pastor Gary is also a national church planting coach and has been a part of helping to see many new churches start all over the country. Gary is ordained through General Baptist Denomination and a graduate of the University of South Florida. Gary also has 2 daughters (Sydney & Brooke) and they are also guardians of Mary Jo Boyette.
Eric and his wife Melissa started attending New Walk in 2008 and they were immediately drawn to the life change they witnessed there. More than that, New Walk provided practical ministry opportunities that aligned with God’s continued calling on Eric’s heart. He was invited to join New Walk's staff in 2009 as the Director of Connection Groups. Later, in 2011, he transitioned from that role to that of Executive Pastor, in which he is responsible for partnering with Pastor Gary in the direct oversight of all of New Walk’s ministries, personnel, and finances. Eric was also ordained into the ministry at New Walk in 2011, and he remains active in our church’s pastoral care and teaching areas. Eric and Melissa have three children (Ethan, Reese, and Grady), and feel blessed to be a part of the Kingdom growth occurring in and through New Walk Church.
Renee and her husband Scott have been blessed to be a part of New Walk from the launch in 2006. They, along with their two boys love being a part of the vision of New Walk! Renee has served in several different roles for the church over the years, currently she is New Walk's Executive Assistant. Knowing the vision and having the passion for New Walk, she is able to assist Pastor Gary and the staff on many different levels. You can contact Renee by using the email below.
Jacob leads New Walk's Worship Arts team which includes an outstanding Adult Worship Team, Awesome Student Worship Team as well as a growing Drama Team. His God-given, talented voice has been used already to reach thousands in this area for Christ. Prior to coming to New Walk, Jacob was leading worship at a church in Missouri where he led for 2 years starting at the age of 15! Brent has been a part of New Walk Church for 6 years. He joined New Walk Staff in 2007 as the Media Director and in 2011 became the student Pastor. He has served in Student Ministry for the past 4 years and has a passion for raising up the next generation to love and lead others to Christ. Brent is married to Christine Wernsing and together they have 5 kids, Delaney - 6, Seth - 4, Amani - 4, Trinity - 3, Sean - 1.
Michael and his family started attending New Walk in February of 2008. After being raised in a more "traditional" church setting, he was immediately drawn to New Walk's casual yet relevant style of church. Michael immediately engaged in serving at New Walk, focusing mainly on H2O Sports and Setup and Tear-down Teams. His strong passion for God and people landed him the position as Director of New Walk's Connection Groups, where he believes with all his heart that Connection Groups are the "Life-Blood" of New Walk! Michael also serves as the Coordinator of the Setup and Tear-down teams. He, along with his wife, Nicki and their 5 children love the vision of New Walk and how it is relentless in reaching their community for Christ!
Nicki and her husband Michael, started attending New Walk in 2008. They, along with their 5 kids, have been captivated by and excited about the vision of their church ever since. Nicki currently leads our Parking and Greeting Teams, which plays a vital role for First Impressions! At New Walk, First Timers are our VIPs. Its Nicki's greatest passion to see our VIP's move from loving their first visit to being fully engaged Christ-followers excited about the vision of New Walk Church, as well as the community it reaches.
Cammie was born and raised in Tampa, FL and is a graduate of USF, GO BULLS! She and her family started attending New Walk in January of 2007. Cammie and Jacob Hill met at New Walk on Easter of 2007 and have been happily married since September 19, 2008. Cammie joined the New Walk Staff in October of 2012 as the New Walk Kids Director. She loves working with children and her goal is to make your kids experience at New Walk the best hour of your kid's week through high-energy, biblical teaching! Cammie loves being a part of the work that God is doing through the Kid's Ministry at New Walk and taking part in teaching your kids about Jesus on their level.
